The FLUKE NETWORKS DSX2-5000 is a copper cable qualification and certification tester for network cabling. It supports cable certification, wire mapping, endpoint testing, cable length display, distance to fault, crosstalk detection, impedance detection, pair tracing, and PoE/PoE+ detection. The unit is designed for testing shielded and unshielded LAN cabling, including CAT3, CAT4, CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and CAT8, with RJ45 connectivity and support for TIA Category 3, 4, 5, 5e, 6, 6A, and 8 per ANSI/TIA-568.2-D. Measurement capabilities: Supports wire map, length, propagation delay, delay skew, DC loop resistance, return loss, insertion loss, NEXT, FEXT, ACR-N, ACR-F, Power Sum NEXT, Power Sum ACR-N, Power Sum ACR-F, and additional crosstalk-related parameters. Fault detection: Detects opens, shorts, continuity, crosstalk, impedance, and distance to fault. Range and resolution: Maximum cable length 2,600 ft with resolution of 0.1 m or 1 ft, 0.1 ohm, and 1 ns. Data storage and connectivity: Stores up to 12,000 results and includes integrated Wi-Fi meeting IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Power: Uses a 7.2 V lithium-ion battery pack with typical battery life of 8 hours; charge time is 4 hours from 10% to 90% with tester off.
