Description

Mosquitoes breed in as little as 1/4 inch of standing water. Mosquito Dunks kill mosquito larvae by releasing the biological larvicide B.t.i. (Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis). Using B.t.i., we can sabotage the growth cycle of the mosquito larvae. When female mosquitoes lay their eggs in standing water treated with a Mosquito Dunk, the mosquito larvae will hatch, begin to eat the B.t.i. contained in the Mosquito Dunk, and die. Utilizing the same mode of action for control of mosquito larvae, Mosquito Bits can be sprinkled in marshy swampy areas for a shock to quickly annihilate the larval population. When standing water is not on your property but you still have a mosquito problem, they could be coming from an adjacent property.
