ABS Schedule 40 DWV. Used in some plumbing code areas to connect a branch line into a vertical drain pipe instead of a conventional tee. Also for connecting a horizontal drain pipe on the perpendicular.

Used to change direction in piping as well as size. Usually utilized to convert from 3" horizontal pipe to 4" vertical pipe directly under the toilet.
